In September 2009, our pomegranate orchard was expanded by the Cold Storage Rooms (with Central Chiller System) and Strawberry Pre-Cooling Facility including product processing & packaging area, which is supported by Turkish Republic Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Besides our wide-surface cooling equipment and chiller system, both helping to increase post-harvest quality of fruits and vegetables, a control system was provided in order to supervise and monitor the related atmospheric conditions of the cold rooms.
Van-Amerongen B.V. company of The Netherlands installed a gas-tight infrastructure, suitable for both Controlled Atmosphere System and Smart Fresh applications. With existing modified equipment, our plant features more than just a cold warehouse, especially with the Controlled Atmosphere Doors produced by Salco B.V. of The Netherlands.
Agriata JSC. undertook a ground-breaking R&D Program in Turkey, in collaboration with Van-Amerongen B.V. and Akdeniz University of Antalya, which seeks to find methods to reduce the losses in post-harvest of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables, which deeply strikes Turkish economy. For the purposes of the program, a research container of 4+10 controlled atmosphere cold chambers was put under the university’s use.
